Yes people, yesterday was a big moment for many blazblue fans as the sequel to Continuum Shift was announced, taking the name of "Chrono Phantasma". Certainly not the name we were expecting for the title but none-the-less the squel is indeed real and happening very soon. The game will first be released for the Japanese Arcades in Winter of 2012, thus leading to a release for the consoles 6-7 months later, meaning the summertime of next year. Blazblue Chrono Phantasma has all the previous cast returning (Aside from Lambda who will most likely be replaced by a new Murakumo Unit) as well as releasing 3 brand new unseen characters into the mix. The three new characters are a possible crossdressing male in a pink kimono and scarf by the name of Amane Nishiki (This design seems to take ideas from Ark System's own Bridget and Anji Mito, more the latter, from Guilty Gear), a sexy tanned dark-skinned woman by the name of Bullet (Real name not known), and a fearsome looking blue-haired man named Azrael, whose style seems VERY close to that of my Guilty Gear main, Slayer (Looks like him too).

Now personally, I hope that Ark Systems, if they are indeed the only characters that are going to be in the game that are brand new, will decide to take the DLC route and in characters like Torakaka and Jubei in one pack and characters like Kokonoe and Phantom in another. I love the new characters route, but I must easily say that I really want to play as Jubei, for I'm really curious to see how they would make him work, the same for how much they could make Torakaka from Taokaka and how they could make a Scientific genius like Kokonoe fight. I guess it's time to move onto Movesets sometime soon. Another thing that must be added is that most characters received new moves, while some seem to still remain mostly the same. For example, one of my mains, Arakune, gained this crazy looking attack that seemed as if it could also knock opponents out of the sky as well as on the ground. Makoto's still alot like her Continuum Shift self, which is great considering she's my second main. As for others, Jin has a new downward sword strike move, Noel's got a brand new costume and attack, Tsubaki possesses brand new distortion drives and a new black outfit, Bang's got a new distortion drive where he actually uses his nail for something, Litchi possesses a new distortion drive, and so on and so forth.

The end of the trailer released though gives hint that there is a good chance that Jubei and Kokonoe will be playable sometime down the line, possibly only for the console release of the game. But it's way too early to say, so all I can say is strap yourselves in and get out your waiting chairs because it's going to be a while until we get our hands on the new Blazblue. The least I can say is...pray for a demo...I know I am because I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

For those who have not seen it yet...here is the trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=…
